This program was developed organically out of a real-life situation. My daughter came to us and said “I want to get faster.” She added, “I’m fast when I have enough time to catch up to someone, but I’m not as fast in a short distance.”
What she noticed is that she is fast in her top velocity, but she is lacking in acceleration, meaning how long it takes her to ramp up from 0 to top speed. Getting faster is more than just trying to run faster. We have to break it down into components, and THAT’S where you’ll get results.
So, we told her we could design a simple program with super easy to follow exercises, and in just a few weeks, she’d notice a big difference.” We knew the program couldn’t be too intense if we wanted her to stick with it. And it had to be kind of fun. So we kept it simple, and effective.
She was on board. We started training the next week, and just as expected, she very quickly became the fastest defender on her soccer team and was able to chase down her opponents, save goals, and add tremendous value to the team.
So, we decided to make this training available through ACL Strong so other athletes could follow a safe and simple plan to get faster too!
